How to Order a Headstone for a Cemetery in Another City or Province
How to arrange a headstone when the grave is far away — getting cemetery rules remotely, approving proofs online, delivery, installation and checking the result.
Families are spread out. It is common to arrange a headstone for a parent buried in a hometown hundreds of kilometres away. It can all be done remotely.
Step by step
- Call or email the cemetery for section rules, foundation and installation fees, and the permit form.
- Get the lot details — section, row, lot and lot owner. See finding a grave.
- Design and approve the proof online. Our Design Studio helps you plan first.
- Submit the permit with the lot owner's signature (often by email or scan).
- Arrange delivery to the cemetery or to a local installer.
- Installation by the cemetery or an approved local installer.
- Ask for photos of the installed stone — front, sides and a wide shot showing it level.
