League tributes

Design tips

• "Safe at home" is a classic, gentle epitaph.
• Team colours add personality.
• Sponsors' logos may need permission.
• See ideas for a baseball player.

Choosing the main emblem

A softball with crossed bats is the most recognisable emblem. For a pitcher, a ball in a glove; for a coach, a clipboard or whistle.

Colours and finish

Team colours on the ball's stitching or the bats add personality, especially on grey granite. On black granite, a white-etched ball and bats look crisp and classic. If the player coached youth teams for years, add "Coach" in quotes before their name. Many families also list the teams they played for on the back.

Key Takeaways

• Balls, bats and diamonds honour softball players.
• "Safe at home" is a classic epitaph.
• Team and league details personalise it.
