Games with regional roots

Card games often say where a family comes from:

• Euchre — Ontario, Michigan and the Midwest.
• Cribbage — Canadian kitchens and Legion halls; "Fifteen-two" is a favourite line.
• Bridge — clubs and long friendships.
• Pinochle, rummy or poker — family game nights.

The game's name and their usual partners can go on the back. A small fanned hand showing a winning combination — four aces, a perfect cribbage hand — is a fun touch.

Key Takeaways

• Cards and suits are popular.
• Name their favourite game.
• Clever card phrases fit well.
